A remote elephant sanctuary in the Matthews Range, 6am. Keepers sing to call the orphaned calves, aged one to four, who arrive at a run for their milk as keepers stand on a creaking wooden landing, the calves taking the bottles in their trunks like infants. Listen for low elephant rumbles and gurgling as they drink, and one elephant's frustrated bellows.
